Founded in 1643, at the beginning of the reign of Louis XIV, Cire Trudon is the oldest candle manufacturer in the world still active today.

During the course of the 17th century, Trudon became the royal wax manufacturer and official supplier to the French court, and later to Napoleon Bonaparte. Cire Trudon was awarded a gold medal at the 1889 World Exhibition in recognition of the outstanding quality of its candles and wax.

Trudon commissions well-known "noses" to create fragrances that tell stories. Each candle is still moulded and made by hand in the factory in Normandy, continuing a luxurious manufacturing tradition that helps to pass on the expertise of its founder, Claude Trudon.
